40 Weeks and No Baby :(
Well I had my 40 week checkup today--on my due date. Apparently this baby is really just loving where she's at and doesn't want to be born yet. I'm still only dilated to a 1 (where I've been for 3 weeks already.) I'm more effaced than I was before, but baby is still floating up too high. She's a little lower than she was last week, but still not low enough. I'm so depressed about it all, especially since most people I've talked to lately have either been telling me that I'll have the baby early, or they've talked about their babies that they've had early. How come everyone gets to have their babies early but me?! I just don't love that. I'm so ready to be done being pregnant! I just burst into tears at the doctor's office when he said that I'm still just dilated to a 1. I really thought I'd be a little further along than that. Also he won't induce me until I'm 10 days past my due date...so I could be pregnant for 10 more days still. I'm really not happy about that. I had a couple of contractions yesterday that were about 20 minutes apart, but then they just stopped. :( I think it's starting to feel pretty official...this baby is never going to come!

Good luck!! I am so excited to hear that you are going to have a baby!
Hang in there!
And most first time moms average 41 weeks when they actually deliver, so you aren't alone!
I walked walked walked everywhere and that finally did the trick!
Most of my friends had their first babies late. I know that doesn't help, but it's something, I guess. Think of it as more prep time. I'm really not helping, am I? Sorry.
Oh Char, I'm sorry! I know at the end you are SO ready for the baby to come. I hope she comes soon!!
lol. I'm sorry. It's so not funny. My sister (Steph) should read this post because I"m sure she would agree with everything you said. She was SO mad at everyone for having their baby before her. She FINALLY had hers. (not news you wanna hear though right?)! Good luck!!!!
Hey Charlotte, You may have even had your baby by the time you read this, but if not....I'm sorry you are having a hard time waiting for your baby to come. I've totally been there myself, and can sympathize with how you're feeling. It's HARD!!! But I just wanted to give you a few thoughts that might make the waiting a little bit easier.
The due date has gotten a lot of hype over the last several years, but it is really only the middle point of a five week period where over 90% of babies are born. It is perfectly normal for babies to be born anytime within the 37 to 42week time frame. There are even babies born perfectly healthy after 42 weeks! Only 5% (or less) of babies are actually born on their due date. It is actually normal for most first time mothers to have their baby about 8 days after their due date. (This website briefly explains why:

There are a ton of factors involved, including when you ovulate, how quickly your baby's lungs develop, etc.
I know it feels so tempting to just induce labor so you can finally meet your sweet baby, but an induction can cause a lot of complications if your body and/or your baby aren't ready yet. And there is evidence that your baby is the one who signals the beginning of labor when she is ready to be born. Also, welcome any contractions you are having now. They are just getting your body more prepared for the actual thing--they ARE doing something, so don't feel like they're not, even if labor doesn't start for a while.
Hang in there! I promise that even though these days may pass by SOOOOO slowly, everything will be worth the wait! Love you! Good luck!!!
We're praying for you! and not everyone has their babies early or easily...no stress! They have to come eventually! :)) Kisses!!
Hey Charlotte! I am so sorry I missed your baby shower. I hope you had fun- I wish I could have made it. I hope by the time I am reading this you have actually had your baby- sounds like about 10 days ago you were sick of being pregnant, which I can totally understand. Hang in there! The great news is that they are worth the wait :)
Well.. now she is here so I want to see pictures!! :)
So when do we get to see some pictures of your little lady??? I'm dying here! haha Just kidding--I know how crazy that first little while can be after Baby comes, but when you DO get a chance, POST SOME!!! I hope you and Daphne are both doing well, feeling well, SLEEPING well, you know, all that good stuff!
