Under 100 Days!!

As of today I have less than 100 days before the baby is due! I like having a countdown on here to keep track for me. And for some reason 99 days left just sounds like less time to me than saying I'm 26 weeks along. This second trimester has been flying by though! In just another week I'll be in my third trimester. It's crazy how I felt like August would never come, and now it seems not too far away. Kind of freaks me out a little, but I'm super excited! Hopefully the summer will pass by quickly! Not too excited for all that heat...and I can't wait to see what this little girl looks like! She's moving around so much already, and I can tell she's getting bigger and stronger every day! It's very comforting to feel her moving around. We bought a crib and a changing table from IKEA last weekend. I'll have to take pictures when we finally get them put up. I just worry now about getting everything that we need to for her. I don't even know what all we should get. Anyone have any checklists of baby things to get? We still need to register for baby showers and stuff, so it would be nice to know what all we're going to need. I just don't want to forget anything! I've looked at a few checklists online, but any suggestions from you moms out there? Must-have things for your baby? First time mom needs some help. :)

You'll be sure to get tons of newborn clothes at showers. What you won't get is stuff to use beyond the first 3 months. I recommend buying bigger size clothes. Also, start stocking up on diapers. Now. The one or 2 packages you will get from showers will last maybe a week. You'll want to get lots of wipes too. Oh, and nursing pads, and maxi pads because you don't want to have to send your husband to the store for those. Believe me. The list could go on and on. I always say that mom and dad should make sure they take care of and have the practical stuff on hand. The showers are when you get all the extras.

I think the best thing to have is a swing...you need a place to set the baby down for a few minutes when you need to shower, go to the bathroom, etc. I mean, the floor is good too, but never a favorite with the baby it seems :).

Im going with Christa.... everything she said is totally true. And maybe add to the "personals" list, bras. And a boppy. lol. Those are two completely different things. Anyway, congrats to you!! So exciting.

WOW--you really are getting there! :) I'm glad you can feel the baby move and are excited about everything that's going on in your pregnancy. I can't wait to meet your little girl! And I want to be in Utah for at least one shower! So, make sure one is scheduled for the week of May 25th or June 21st. :) As far as a list of what you need for baby, you need to have a mile-long scribble pad. I should send you an email about this. :) But, like Christa said, DIAPERS, clothes of all sizes, BURP CLOTHS if she's anything like Mierae, pacifiers (different kinds if she doesn't like the one the hospital gives you), and a swing is a GREAT idea. I'll have to make you a blanket. Oooh, I'm getting excited!

Oh it's coming up so quickly! I'll have to think about it... but I'll definitely have to make you a sling. And did you like the nursing cover that Emily has? We could get you one like that.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my nursing cover, so I highly recommend it!! I was going to mention that, so I'm glad Rosie did! :) I LOVE my slings (yes, I have lots!) and my Baby Bjorn is a lifesaver, as well! If you can find one of those for a decent price, I recommend it. Lots of blankets are nice, too. Did you get the box we sent in the massive amounts of stuff we borrowed from Rosie? Those are VERY useful. As far as diapers, we went through one pkg of newborn diapers, about 4 mega packs of size one, two mega packs of size two, and we're already onto size three. Since you're near actual stores where they sell these things, don't worry about it TOO much, but just know that you will go through them quickly. Burp cloths are super useful...I've even used cloth diapers as burp cloths. I also recommend a LOT of bibs, as all my kids start slobbering little rivers by the time they're about 3 months old and you CANNOT keep them dry! If we don't want to change his clothes 40 times a day, we use bibs to stem the tide a bit. Ok, this is super long. Maybe I'll write you an email... ;P
